Ingrid and I started working together because I was having trouble balancing all the moving pieces of my hectic life. We hadn’t been working together long before I saw my life for what it was — a whole lot of busyness, but not much meaning or purpose. She reflected back to me a perspective I had never observed about myself and enabled me to see the story that I was stuck in. In the end I was able to realize that my past did not define who I was today. I would highly encourage anybody who knows that they are stuck in their lives to work with Ingrid.
A year ago, if you had told me that I could be calm and collected no matter what frustrating or irritating situation I found myself in, I would’ve told you that you don’t know me. After a short period working with Ingrid, I learned the awareness tools and techniques that allowed me to take control of my life. Now, when I find myself reacting, I take a moment to pause, recognize my trigger, and consciously choose to respond or not. The more I practice the mindfulness techniques that I learned, the better I am at creating peace and calm wherever I am.
Before I started working with Ingrid, I felt like a failure. I had tried time and time again to be healthier and make healthier choices. I would be successful but the changes never stuck. Every time I started a new program, I would be energized at first, but then the familiar feelings of being stifled would set in. She helped me see that the reason my past efforts weren’t successful was because I believed that being healthy was synonymous with restriction, boredom and tastelessness. Once I saw this limiting belief, I started to challenge it. We worked together to design new healthy habits that not just made me feel free, but that actually built my confidence that I could follow through with creating and sticking to healthy habits. I feel better than I’ve ever felt.
Ingrid has been my health coach for 2 years. Her vast knowledge of the mental, physical, and emotional factors that contribute to overall well-being make her an excellent health coach. She works hard to keep up with the latest on nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness — the key ingredients in maintaining health.
Doing the initial self–discovery work helped me identify areas of my life that really mattered. It wasn't just about losing weight!!! Initially I wanted to just lose weight, but realized through our coaching that I needed to make some lifestyle changes in order to do that — meal planning, better sleep, and spending more time on taking care of me. I also needed someone to believe in me, to keep me accountable, and inspire me. I lost my sparkle somewhere. My wheels had been spinning in place for a while, and Ingrid’s coaching helped me to get out of my "funk" and on to making some necessary changes to bettering my health.
